Why a two-stage approach with implant AND fat transfer is often the best choice<\/em><\/p>\n

What are tubular breasts?<\/h2>\n

Tuberous breasts are a congenital defect in which the breast develops differently. They have a narrow attachment on the chest, a relatively large or swollen areola, little volume and often an elongated, tubular shape. The underside of the breast (the lower pole) is usually underdeveloped or even completely absent.<\/p>\n

Why classic breast augmentation is often not enough<\/h2>\n

In classic breast augmentation, only an implant is usually placed. With tubular breasts, this often does not give a beautiful result. Due to the tight skin and limited breast base, the implant does not get the space to create a natural shape. This can lead to an unnatural bulge or a breast that is too taut.<\/p>\n

The solution: a two-step treatment<\/h2>\n

The hybrid approach consists of two phases, or two operations. In the first phase, a round prosthesis is placed in the Dual Plane position. This corrects the basic structure of the breast. Lipofilling follows in the second phase: this involves injecting your own fat tissue around the prosthesis to refine and soften the contours.<\/p>\n

Why this hybrid method works<\/h2>\n

Fat adheres better and remains more stable around an implant than when fat injection alone is applied. This combination allows targeted volume to be added exactly where it is needed. There is little risk of fat resorption or migration, and the result feels soft and looks natural.<\/p>\n

Risks and complications of hybrid breast augmentation<\/h2>\n

As with any surgery, there can be risks. Possible complications include infection, capsular contracture, changes in sensation, or fat resorption with lipofilling. These risks are discussed in detail during the consultation so that you can make an informed choice.<\/p>\n

Aftercare<\/h2>\n

After surgery, you will wear a supportive bra and follow clear instructions on rest, wound care and rebuilding your daily activities. You will come for check-ups at the clinic so that your recovery is closely monitored. Dr Schiettecatte and his team will accompany you throughout the entire procedure.<\/p>\n
