With plastic surgery, surgery and implants quickly come to mind. Yet many more cosmetic treatments are possible. The latest trend combines minimally invasive surgery with injections and skin therapy. Thus, beautiful results are achieved with a MACS lift* with lipofilling (or hyaluronic acid injections), whether or not complemented by fractional laser therapy of the skin.
Facial lipofilling
Lipofilling uses the body's own fat. If you are considering this, it is important to know that facial lipofilling must be performed under sterile conditions and with very fine cannulas. The fat is injected as an oily liquid and you achieve a smooth result with no fat bulges. It is wise to start treatment in more forgiving areas, such as the crease next to the mouth towards the nose. People who are unsure about anti-wrinkle treatment, I recommend starting with injections of hyaluronic acid and botox first. These agents have a temporary effect of about five to eight months.
Lipofilling in other areas
Lipofilling for larger areas is also possible. Consider, for example, breast reconstructions where there is some asymmetry or denting after surgery. Buttock augmentations can also be performed using this technique, although some doctors prefer to use buttock implants. I myself use lipofilling, for example, for the hybrid breast augmentation.
*MACS stands for Minimal Access Cranial Suspension and is a plastic surgery technique in which tissues are lifted through minimal incisions.
